Obituary for Gladys Bernice Moody

Gladys Bernice Moody, 94, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on January 14, 1925 in Magazine, Arkansas. She is the daughter of John Douglas “Doug” and Della (Loyd) Womack. She went to walk with her heavenly Father on Sunday, February 17, 2019 in Blanchard, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family.
She graduated from high school in Magazine, Arkansas class of 1943. Gladys married her high school sweetheart, Clarence Moody, Jr. on June 25, 1943 in Magazine, Arkansas. She and Clarence moved to Elk City after his discharge from the United States Navy in 1945. While in Elk City, she worked at Armour Co. until it closed in 1960. She then worked for Dr. Baker for nine years until she and her family moved to Altus, Oklahoma. In Altus, she was employed by Dr. Tefertiller from 1970 to 1975 and Dr. Cooper Ray from 1976 until her and Clarence returned to Elk City in 1982. Gladys enjoyed cooking for family, trout fishing with her family in Colorado, skiing and sewing.
She was also a member of the Eastside Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Eastside Baptist Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. Rev. Ed Wrather will officiate. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Cherishing her memory is her daughter, Kathy Bonds and her husband, Don of Blanchard, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Dixie Moody of Edmond, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Kyle Bonds and his wife, Kristee of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Kerry Bonds and his wife, Crystal of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Lara Morgan and her husband, David of Duncan, Oklahoma, Dallace Fox and her husband, Doug of Weatherford, Oklahoma; seven great-grandchildren, Wyatt Bonds and his wife, Jessica of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Kelsey Bonds of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Karlie Bonds of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Kody Bonds of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Ethan Morgan and Lyndley Morgan both of Duncan, Oklahoma, Luxtyn Rodney Fox of Weatherford, Oklahoma; numerous cousins, family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; son, Rodney Moody; parents, Doug and Della Womack and one sister.
