Obituary for Loy Helen Pennington

Loy Helen Pennington, 84, of Moorewood, Oklahoma was born on May 25, 1934 in the Flo Community, near Buffalo, Texas to Elby and Rosa (Rippy) Stevens. She met her Lord and Savior on November 27, 2018 at her home in Moorewood, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family.
She married the love of her life Isaac M. Pennington on July 23, 1949 in Buffalo, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2010.
Loy enjoyed her flowers, quilting, cooking for others, taking pictures, string art, painting, fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
She was a member of the Moorewood Missionary Baptist Church. Loy taught Sunday school and was a part of women’s missions.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Moorewood Missionary Baptist Church in Moorewood, Oklahoma. Pastor Anthony Pennington will officiate. Interment will be at Moorewood Cemetery in Moorewood, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Cherishing her memory are her two sons, Anthony A. Pennington and his wife, Mary of Moorewood, Oklahoma, Gerald D. Pennington and his wife, Anita of Moorewood, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, David Pennington and his wife, Ann Marie, Amy Vincent and her husband, Bryon of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dustin Thomas and his wife, Susan of Elk City, Oklahoma, Amanda Williams and her husband, Danny of Hammon, Oklahoma, Sabrina Thomas of Hammon, Oklahoma, Melissa Slaughter and her husband, Justin of Elk City, Oklahoma, Lee Pennington and his wife Kendra, of Woodward, Oklahoma; eleven great grandchildren, Ryan Pennington, Juliana Pennington, Joseph Pennington, Grace Vincent, Chloe Vincent, Haley Vincent, Shelby Thomas, Dalton Thomas, Marvin Hamrick, Abigail Thomas and Crystal Williams and baby girl Slaughter; three brothers, Johnny Stevens and his wife, Katherine of Buffalo, Texas, Doug Stevens of Palestine, Texas, Elby Stevens Jr “Butch” of Oakwood, Texas; one sister, Selma Eggleston of Bascom, Texas; sister-in-law, Judy Johnson of Corsicana, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by husband, Isaac M. Pennington; parents, Elby and Rosa Stevens; brother, Ben Stevens and his wife, Shirley; sister Hazel Miller and her husband, Carol; sister-in-law, Kay Stevens; sister, Ann Newsom and her husband, Elmo; sister-in-law, Mary Bell Stevens; brother-in-law, Francis Eggleston.
